Chef John E. Thompson

Inspired

John E. Thompson, a native of West Palm Beach, FL, is a Certified Executive Chef and has spent his entire life in pursuit of a great meal to be shared with family and friends. While growing up on the east coast from Florida to New York, he learned very early in life the pleasures of fine dining and the excitement of seeing others enjoy the fruits of his labor in the kitchen.

After graduating from the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY in 1992, he has worked in a number of hotels and country clubs from the Virgin Islands, to Texas, to South Carolina, Minnesota and California.

He now rests his toque in Seattle engineering hospitality excellence with his approach to Neo-Comfort Cuisine reflecting the diversity and cultural richness of the foods that warm the soul.

Chef Thompson has held various positions at distinguished clubs and restaurants and always a student of his environment, John has thrived on learning the regional cuisines along the many stops of his career, including his time and travels in France, Spain, Italy, Germany and the Caribbean.  He has always been open to the new ideas others would bring into the kitchen to help create a more exciting dining experience for his clients.

John is now is at the COO of 24X68 Culinary a division of JET Setting Culinary Concepts LLC, a Hospitality consulting, planning, and management organization. He takes every opportunity to develop and improve the breadth of cuisine that is offered, while building the skills and experiences of the people around him. In 2008 John was invited to the White House to take a role in Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move campaign to fight childhood obesity. 

He continues to support organization influencing how we feed our children and those in need today. Chef Thompson works to keep his clients stimulated with an ever-changing selection of choices of menus. For those who have a more adventurous palate, he provides private farm to table table dinners, vintner’s dinners, and menus based on requests or special gastronomical interests.

John is a great supporter of the industry’s effort to develop young professionals. He has put in countless hours organizing, judging, and competing in culinary competitions. He also spent several years as a chef instructor at Savannah Technical College in Savannah, GA, not to mention the time spent preparing members of his staff to compete thus bettering their own careers, and many of them moving on to run their own operations.
